# The funnel

> Clicks, visits, engaged and enquiries for one campaign, per channel and per post. What each stage means and how to read it.

The funnel answers the only question a campaign really has: **who did it bring, and what did they do?** It sits in the analytics panel beside the campaign and fills in with the first click.

## The four stages

| Stage         | Counts                                                                                               |
| ------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Clicks** | Every tap on any of the campaign's links, including the campaign link. Bots and repeat taps included |
| **Visits** | Real people who arrived. One per session, so someone who comes back after 30 minutes counts again |
| **Engaged** | People who stayed: read a second page, spent 30 seconds on one, or scrolled half of one |
| **Enquiries** | People who filled in a form or wrote to you, and who first appeared after the campaign started |

Each stage shows the percentage that made it from the one before.

## Breakdowns

* **By channel.** Which channel brought the people. Clicks on the campaign link count as their own channel.
* **By post.** One row per post, the same four numbers.
* **Pages.** Where those people went next on your site.
* **People.** The most recent enquiries, with the channel and post that brought each one.

## Probable matches

Most enquiries match exactly to the visit that brought them. Some match by a weaker signal and are labelled **probable**: likely, but not certain.

<Note>
  Only people who first appeared after the campaign started count. Someone who already knew you was not brought by the campaign.
</Note>

## Reading it

| If this stage is low | Look at |
| ------------------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Clicks** | The post itself: reach, timing, the hook |
| **Visits**, compared with clicks | A big gap is normal. Bots and link previews tap links |
| **Engaged**, compared with visits | The landing page. Did it deliver what the post promised? |
| **Enquiries**, compared with engaged | The path to the form. Is there one on the landing page? |
