# Setting up a tracking funnel

> From nothing to a campaign that reports clicks, visits, engagement and enquiries per post. About 20 minutes the first time.

The first two steps are one-time. After that a campaign takes about five minutes.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Connect your channels">
    Settings, then **Connections**. Sign in to each account you want to post from.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Give people a way to write in">
    The funnel ends at an enquiry, so the site needs a form or a contact button Stage can see: a [Stage form](/editing/forms), or the site's contact button if the design has one. Set the notification address under Settings, then Forms.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create the campaign">
    Open the **Campaign** tool. Title it, add a **source** frame for the post or page it is about, then one frame per channel. Put links to your site wherever they belong.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Schedule">
    Set a time on each frame. Stage posts at that minute.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Copy the campaign link">
    Press **Copy** on the chip beside the title. Paste it into your Instagram bio and anywhere else a post cannot carry its own link.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Read the funnel">
    Open the analytics panel and scroll to **Funnel**. The per-channel and per-post tables tell you which post did the work. The pages list tells you where people went next. See [The funnel](/campaigns/funnel#reading-it) for what a low stage means.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Checklist

* Accounts connected
* A form or contact button on the site, with a notification address set
* Campaign titled, source frame added, one frame per channel
* Every frame scheduled
* Campaign link in the Instagram bio and anywhere else a post cannot link

<Tip>
  **What you do not need to do** Add tracking code to the site: it is already there. Build tracking links by hand: every link is tagged when it posts. Ask people where they came from: Stage remembers for 30 days.
