This walks through one complete edit so you can see the whole loop before reading anything else.
Before you start You need an invitation to your site’s admin. If you do not have one, open /admin on the site and press Request access. See Opening the admin.

Open the admin

Go to your site’s address and add /admin. Sign in.

Switch on Edit

Press Edit in the bottom-left bar. The page looks the same, but text and images are now clickable.

Change a headline

Click any headline and type. What you see is exactly what visitors will see.

Publish

Press Publish, then Publish now? to confirm. The button reads Live once the site has started rebuilding.

Check the site

Open the page in a new tab. A full rebuild takes a minute or two. Sites set up for instant refresh show the change in seconds.
That is the whole model. Everything else in these docs is a variation: images instead of text, lists instead of single fields, articles and forms instead of pages.
